Tawny owl

Tawny owl in autumn by Peter Howes,  Canon EOS 1DS, 100 - 400 IS L lens

Peter Howes of London spent five days with Simon on accompaniment.

“Inspiring … the 5 days spent with Simon was magical; he’s a true master of his craft …

I’ve regained a passion long forgotten; during the five days I spent with him he taught me to see things in a new light, and bring vibrancy to my work.

If you’re considering a photographic course, be prepared to work hard but in the end you’ll produce images to be proud of.”

Torcross Sunrise by Stephen Beck, Canon EOS 20D, 70 - 210mm Zoom

I attended the 6-day, Outdoor Photography course run by Simon Booth at the Field Studies Centre in Slapton, Devon in August 2006.

Thanks to Simon’s competance in Nature photography and his willingness to share his knowledge, we were able to cover a huge range of subjects during the week. For instance, one day we would be photographing coastal landscapes, the next we would be trying macro photography of flowers and insects. I learnt a huge amount on the course and came away with many new techniques for achieving appealing images. It was a hard-working course, with several early starts, but this only added to the sense of achievement at the end. Now I have to apply the knowledge and create some images myself that match the quality of those captured on the course!
