Jacqui Livesey, who recently commissioned Simon said, “As a photographer, Simon's wildlife and countryside work is amazing and we are doubly lucky to have such a talent living and working locally. As our rural tourism programme developed, we were clear that we needed new images to reflect the beauty and diversity of the West Pennine Moors and the countryside around Blackburn and Darwen. The area hadn't really been primed as a tourism destination in the past, so it was important that the images we commissioned would make people stop - do a double take if you like - and view our countryside in new and exciting ways. Simon's images have done this and much more. They have created the best possible canvas to promote the area, and they are wonderful simply to look at and admire. One of the highlights of the week is to receive an email containing Simon's latest pictures of Blackburn and Darwen”.
